What is a Powered Bluetooth Beacon?
AÂ Powered Bluetooth Beacon (ER-beacon-V1.4)Â is a small electronic device that uses Bluetooth Low Energy Beacon (BLE) technology to transmit a real time asset location tracking data. It is a specialized Bluetooth tag that continuously emits beacon signals to nearby Bluetooth scanners, gateways or other BLE-enabled devices. Typically, in the form of a unique identifier, to nearby devices such as smartphones, tablets, or other Bluetooth-enabled hardware.
Unlike battery-powered BLE beacon, which are typically battery-powered, a powered Bluetooth beacon is connected to a continuous power source with 4-pin Molex connector adapter allowing it to operate without the need for battery replacements or recharging.
Role of the 4-Pin Molex Connector
The 4-pin Molex connector in a powered BLE beacon used to provide external DC power (e.g., 5V/12V) for continuous operation, eliminating battery reliance.
